Everybody is aware of the A, B, and C vitamins. The majority of us are aware that vitamins A through E are present in many fruits and vegetables. They had just recently begun to understand the nature of vitamins, only a century ago. For the first time, vitamin C was isolated in a lab and identified asĀ “substance which cured and prevented scurvy”, a major problem for sailors. Scientists were aware that they had a breakthrough. Many vitamins were being identified and synthesized by the early 1930s. For folks who could not obtain the right amount in their food, it was practically a miracle.
After a century, a large portion of the populace still depends on these vitamin “supplements” to meet their daily needs. Most of the time, it’s due to our busy schedules and, yeah, the fact that a lot of the world still has a relatively unbalanced diet. Pizza, fries, and burgers just aren’t healthy. “People want their food fast and ready,” stated Doug, the owner of an Outer Banks, North Carolina, smoothie restaurant. “we are used to getting things fast and cheap and that has consequences on our health in the short and long-term.” .
Doug continued by saying that he opened his smoothie shop in part for this reason. Their goal was to provide wholesome and delectable fresh fruit smoothies along with other food products that could be purchased and consumed in less than half an hour. “People deserve to have food that tastes good and is good for them” .
Doug seems to be making sense, in my opinion. It’s even been acknowledged by the NIH that vitamins generated organically might be healthier than those produced in a lab. Naturally, if you don’t have access to a natural source of vitamins, don’t ignore your vitamin intake. Take the supplements. They’ll be plenty effective until you can purchase fresh produce and use that to obtain your nutrition.
